Greater Bird of Paradise
Greater Bird of paradise is one of the largest of the 42 species of birds of paradise. It was initially named the “legless bird-ofparadise", because early specimens to reach Europe were prepared without wings or feet by native people leading to the mistaken belief in Europe that that they were visitors from heaven that floated along by their plumes alone never touching the earth and so not requiring wings to fly or feet to land.
